In fact, the film has gone on to become A24's highest-grossing film to date. The film may have not been the most widely-accepted horror film of the year, but its financial success shows the clear advantages of embracing bold storytelling.
Obviously, motion pictures like Hereditary are unequivocally where this level of narrating can really flourish. Awfulness is hot at this moment, and a bit some portion of that warmth is the way that littler scale blood and gore flicks can contend with critical tentpoles from the Marvel or Star Wars establishments, to a great extent because of their generally low monetary overhead.
